Christmas of 2017 was spent in New York City with my family, It was bitterly cold and extremely busy but well worth the visit. Whist not a dedicated photography visit I managed to get some memorable images. Multiple layers of clothing were needed for this trip with gloves and a beanie being a must have when the temperature is below -5 degrees celsius.
These are more of a travel photography style to show what can be achieved by just walking around with a camera. These were all taken with an ultra wide angle lens attached to my Sony Camera.
Whilst most were taken handheld some of these were achieved by resting the camera on ledges or other flat surfaces to avoid movement. This was necessary due to some long exposures and many venues not allowing tripods. Even if a tripod was allowed it would have been a serious burden given how busy some of the places were. It’s a good technique to practice if you want to take your travel photo’s to the next level.
